Team 8057 is in need of a space to use as a clubhouse and workshop. For our current season the City of Groveland has graciously allowed us to use some space in a city building, but this is only available through June, 2020.
We are looking for any space that may be available either at no cost or at a low monthly cost. Any space that is donated, in part or in full, can have the cost written off as a tax deduction thanks to our partnership with Mom’s Guide to Robotics, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit and a sponsorship listing on our website, robot and team t shirts. Our robot and t-shirts will be seen all over Central Florida, including many events in South Lake County. All of our sponsors will be mentioned at our Orlando Regional event at the UCF Arena in March.
A ‘perfect’ space would be 1300-1550 square feet, mainly ‘open space’, with access to internet, with a restroom facility and with AC and heating. We can work in a space as small as 600 square feet and can make allowances for internet, AC and heating. We would highly prefer a location in Groveland, but will consider offers of space nearby to Groveland in neighboring communities.
We can easily work with any business, school, church or property owner that might have some spare space they could allow us access to. In January through March we meet M-F in the evening and Saturday morning/afternoon. April through December we will meet one evening a week and occasional Saturdays.
If you have or know of any such available space, please get in touch with us at 352-272-5969 or AWURobotics@gmail.com. Thank you!
